15+ Cool Kidz Park Indoor Playground features in Maryland
This great play space, Kidz Park indoor playground, opened up recently in Catonsville, and we had to make a stop. We had planned to go to one of the imagination playgrounds in PG County, but it was so hot that we decided to go to an indoor play area instead, which happened to be close to us.
Kidz Park playground is an indoor playground and is an incredibly unique space for kids. They have so many play features I have not seen at other indoor play spaces, which was great to see as a ton of places tend to have the same things.
My kids had a ton of fun for 2 hours, and it ended in tears as there was a lot of kicking and screaming when we had to leave. So since we had a lot of fun at Kidz Park, I thought I’d share some great reasons you should check it out with your kids.
15 Reasons to visit Kidz Park Indoor Playground with your kids
1. Ball pit slide
The ball pit area at Kidz park has a lot of fun things for kids to do. We loved the giant slides that went into the ball pit. Kids can get to it from the main floor or the ninja course area. Thankfully there were four slides, so each kid took one, and then I took one, and we slid down into the ball pit. My twins were so excited as they slid into a pile of balls at the bottom of the slide.
2. Ball pit net
My daughter loved this ball pit net, as you can see. She kept trying to flip herself with the orange rope. After playing in the ball pit, they made their way through other climbing parts. Right at the top of the ball pit is an open area where kids can climb back down through the net into the ball pit again.
3. Ball pit machine
This ball pit machine was incredible, at least for my little twins. Initially, they just put the balls on there until I hit the green button, and they realized the air could blow them up. The air blows the balls up for a few minutes before stopping, so they kept switching out the balls and trying to match them by colors.
4. Ball pit speed boat
Personally, this was the coolest thing in the ball pit! Thankfully it had two spaces for my twins to sit in. I kept pushing them around the ball pit like they were in a speedboat on water. They were completely thrilled. The boat itself is soft and light, which makes it easier to push or pull them around.
5. Race tracks
I have never seen these race tracks in any indoor playgrounds in Maryland so far! It was super cool. The race track is quite long and goes all the way around. Most of the track was two-laned and could take two minibikes which was perfect cause my six-year-old was fast since she could cycle.
On the other hand, the twins were slow and would have held up the track if only one lane existed. The race track also has a gas station where kids can pretend to fill up their bikes and continue cycling. My kids went around the track many times, and we left with some kicking and screaming.
6. Ninja course
Kidz park has a ninja course area where kids can time themselves to see how long it takes them to complete the entire course. My six-year-old kept going through it to try to beat her last time. You hit the green button to start the timer as you begin the course and then hit the red button upon completion.
My twins could not do most of the ninja course things, especially when it came to balancing, but they found a few parts they could try. My favorite was the part where kids can hold onto ropes at the top while attempting to balance the pole and make it to the other side.
7. Tube slide
When I say Kidz park had a lot of unique activities, I am not kidding. This dry tubing is one of the unique features they have. I have not seen this at most of the indoor playgrounds I have been to. Initially, I did not even know what it was, so the kids walked down the colored steps.
Then the employee next to the tubing area explained how it works. No lies, we went down this thing fifteen times until I got worn out from dragging the tubes up for all kids, lol. It was one of the best parts of Kidz park playground.
8. Shooting Cannon balls
This was quite loud, especially while shooting the balls, but the kids loved it. The balls are also very light, so it does not hurt even when kids get hit with them.
9. Shooting area air ball machine
For some reason, my twins get fascinated seeing balls blown in the air. They loved putting the balls in this machine and then watching it move around in the air on top.
10. Bumper car
Most kids love bumper cars, so it was a pleasant surprise to see them at Kidz park. The bumper cars are an additional cost but worth it, especially for older kids. It also goes on for a reasonable time compared to some amusement park bumper cars.
11. Preschool play village
The preschool play village is a hit for the little kids in the family. They have little slides where they can play without fear of the older kids bumping into them. The village also has a post office where they can pretend to send letters. Next to the post office is a restaurant where they order food and then head to the supermarket to grab some groceries.
12. Climbing net
Not a great picture, but Kidz park has a fantastic net-like area where kids can climb up or down. This is probably better for older kids. My six-year-old daughter was able to do this with no stress. My toddler twins were unable to, and I was too tired to help them up.
13. Foam pit
Who does not love foam cubes? We enjoyed playing inside the foam cube pit and trying to run all over the place. We also pretended to be sinking in the river of cubes.
14. Foam climbing
When you make your way through the foam cubes, it takes you to the climbing wall, which is fun because when you get to the top, you can jump right off and land into the foam cubes. We did this several times till we got tired.
15. Kids foam play area
The foam area is another perfect little space for little kids. Everything in here is soft and safe for them to play with. I also love the patterns on the wall, which make the space welcoming for little kids.
Other great things about Kids park Indoor playground
Cleanliness
Kidz park playground is well maintained, and the staffs do their best to keep it clean as they are constantly wiping down and cleaning areas and toys.
Croc for bathrooms
I was very shocked to see crocs at the entrance of the bathroom, which was very thoughtful of them. I hate going into bathrooms with my socks alone, and so I dreaded it. But to my surprise, I walked to the bathroom and saw crocs for guests to use to go inside.
Sitting area
There is a huge area with tables and chairs for guests to hang out. They also have sitting areas scattered all around the indoor playground so parents/ guardians can take a rest when they need to.
