Amazing Things to Do on New Year’s Eve in Maryland
1. Northside Park Firework Show in Ocean City
Part of the Winterfest celebration for Christmas in Ocean City is the final firework show on December 31st. During December, you can enjoy seeing some stunning Christmas lights, seeing Santa, and sipping on hot chocolate.
On New Year’s Eve, there will be a spectacular firework throughout the day and midnight fireworks show to bring in the New Year. Enjoy some last-minute holiday lights with your family. Some of these New Year’s Eve fireworks shows can get crowded so plan properly.
It is located at Northside Park and is one of the best things to do on New Year’s Eve in Maryland!

2. Mayor’s New Year Event – The Greatest Piano Man in Ocean City
While this event actually takes place on December 30th, it is a great New Year’s event that is worth going to. During this show, you will hear piano songs from some of the best piano legends.
This Mayor’s New Year Event is a live performance that will be so much fun to experience. It will take place at the Performing Arts Center in Ocean City.
3. Middletown Valley Bank Krumpe’s Donut Drop 2023 in Downtown Hagerstown
Donut drop in Hagerstown, MD is one of the best things to do on New Year’s Eve for kids! This Donut Drop will be a fun new year celebration, and your children won’t have to stay awake until midnight to enjoy celebrating.
The Maryland Theatre and Krumpe’s Do-Nut Shop Inc. are putting on this event. Starting at 5:00 pm, there will be a fun kid’s zone to enjoy until the live entertainment begins at 5:30 pm. From there, you will be able to eat free donuts and sip on hot chocolate until the firework show at 7:00 pm.
4. Mid Atlantic Symphony New Year Performance in Easton
If you love listening to the symphony, head over to Easton, Maryland, to enjoy a New Year’s concert! This year features Anna Kelly and Rachel Blaustein, who will be singing, along with the rest of the ensemble.
This is a great concert to attend on December 31st. It will take place at Christ Church at 7:00 pm.
5. Midnight Moon at Maryland Science Center in Baltimore
Midnight Moon is a fun New Year’s Eve event in Baltimore, Maryland. It takes place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, perfect for young kids who need to go to bed early.

For another family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration, head to the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore. From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, your kids will have fun taking photos, dancing around, and playing at all the activity stations set up.
There will then be a countdown to 12:00 pm, with an exciting ball drop, confetti, and streamers. This is a great activity that will include your children in the excitement without ruining their sleep schedule.

This is such a fun train ride that includes a murder mystery, 3-course dinner, dessert, and more! The evening dinner train ride is only for adults and makes for a romantic activity for New Year’s. Choose from prime rib, crab cake, pasta primavera, or grilled chicken.
You will find this ride at Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland. It begins at 6:30 pm and lasts until 9:30 pm, so you can easily go enjoy a fireworks display right after!

The New Year’s Eve Extravaganza is one of the most popular things to do on New Year’s Eve in Maryland! From 9:00 pm to 3:00 am, you can enjoy tons of dancing, partying, and just having fun. There will be live entertainment from various groups that will last until 2:00 am.

11. New Year’s Eve Swing Dance in Glen Echo
For a sweet, romantic evening with your significant other, head over to Glen Echo for a night full of dancing! The New Year’s Eve Swing Dance event takes place at the Spanish Ballroom in Glen Echo and will feature the Scott Silbert Big Band.
From 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm, you will learn how to swing dance, followed by an evening full of fun and dancing all the way into the New Year!
12. New Year’s Eve Charity Gala in Linthicum Heights
This event is put on by a nonprofit, Caring Communities, which helps people with disabilities in Maryland. The Charity Gala is located at the Hilton BWI Airport Hotel in Linthicum Heights and has a Paris theme this year.
Here you will find bars, buffets, live music and entertainment, a huge ball drop, and so much more. There are over 12 different party zones that will help you have fun all night long!
13. New Year’s Eve Event at City Dock in Annapolis
In past years, the city of Annapolis has put on a family-friendly New Year’s event at the City Dock. There are fun activities and a firework show at 5:30 pm for families with young children.
Then, another party takes place afterward 9:00 pm to midnight, with another firework display at midnight.

This is one of the New Year’s Eve activities in Baltimore, Maryland, you do not want to miss. From nine bars and nightclubs to a food buffet, premium beers, live entertainment, and more, there will be plenty of excitement to bring in the new year.
Power Plant Live also features a Times Square live ball drop, confetti cannons, party favors, champagne toast, and more New Year’s Eve festivities to last the entire night. This event begins at 9:00 pm and goes until midnight and is located in Baltimore.

Another kid-friendly New Year’s Eve event, the Countdown to Noontime Show, is put on by Port Discovery, located in Baltimore. This event takes place before noon and involves fun activities for kids.
Close to noon, they will lower Port Discovery’s New Year’s ball! Your kids will have a blast at this event.
17. Baltimore New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball
Have you ever wanted to go to a masquerade ball? Now is your chance! This New Year’s Masquerade Ball takes place at Martin’s Caterers in Baltimore and begins at 10:00 pm. There will be live music, dancing, swag bags, and plenty of fun for this holiday!
18. New Year’s Eve Celebration and Ball Drop in Berlin
The town of Berlin will be putting on two different New Year’s Eve celebrations; one for kids and one for adults. Located in downtown Berlin, there will be a laser show and a kid’s ball drop at 6:00 pm.
Adults can enjoy a DJ with plenty of partying from 10:00 pm until midnight, with a second ball drop.
19. New Year’s Eve Signature Dinner Cruise in Baltimore
What is more romantic than a dinner cruise with your loved one to celebrate the New Year? This Signature Dinner Cruise departs from Baltimore and cruises around the Patapsco River. Eat a delicious buffet and bar.
Dance, eat, enjoy the views, and have a toast to start off the year in a special way! This cruise starts at 9:30 pm and goes until 12:30 pm.
20. New Year’s Eve Skate in Crofton
From 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, your family can enjoy skating around together to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Skate Zone. There will be a balloon drop with prizes too! It is another fun, family-friendly celebration the entire family will love.

At the Lord Calvert Bowling Center, bring in the New Year with a bowling celebration. Starting at 7:00 pm, you can enjoy 3 hours of bowling! There will be pizza, drinks, and a champagne toast at the end.

For another fun skating event, head over to Sportsman’s Hall Roller Skating Center. There will be two events here, so families of all ages can celebrate the New Year together!
From 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, there will be snacks, roller skating, hats, horns, prizes, and pizza for the younger kids. At 3:30 pm, there will be a ball drop too!
Then, from 8:00 pm until midnight, older kids and adults can enjoy a New Year’s Countdown Skate as well. There will be a balloon drop, games, prizes, horns, hats, and just about everything you will need to bring in the New Year!
