5 Reasons Why This Garden Is The Ultimate Christmas Wonderland

This holiday season, I’ve discovered a true hidden gem in Maryland that’s bursting with Christmas cheer yet surprisingly easy on the wallet: Brookside Gardens.

The Christmas season is such a wonderful and joyful time in the world. In many countries, people are looking for the best places to visit in order to celebrate the Christmas festivities.

As someone who lives in Maryland. I have visited Brookside Gardens during the year and during the Christmas season and can tell you that it’s definitely a Christmas wonderland.

With its breathtaking scenery and huge landscape, this garden certainly offers a magical winter experience for everyone.

Brookside Gardens is looking to attract more families, friends, kids and more. Here are five reasons why they are the ideal Christmas wonderland to visit this season.

1. Fewer crowds

During the Christmas season, Brookside Gardens transforms into a picture-perfect winter garden offering lots of festive lights and scenery.

One thing I truly love is the fact that due to its huge size, it’s a lot less crowded and more peaceful than other Christmas light locations in the USA. It’s a relaxing yet magical escape from the other Christmas locations.

2. Bubble Blower

There is an amazing bubble blower area once you step into the garden. Your kids will love to play with the bubbles and hold them or touch them as they burst into smoke. My kids spent the most amount of time here chasing the bubbles. It is at the top of a small building feature so kids can also go inside and have some imaginative play.

3. Caterpillar and other animal displays

There are a lot of lighted animal displays at Brookside Gardens. From giraffes, to dragons, caterpillars, wolves and more. One favorite was the caterpillar display that you can walk through and take some amazing pictures. We kept walking in and out of it.

Another favorite was the dragon display which is located next to the Conservatory at Brookside Gardens. It is lighted up and placed in water. We walked around looking at the dragon from different angles.

4. Gazebos

The gazebos were also a hit at the garden. There were 2 gazebos, and they were well lit up and great photo ops especially for romantic atmospheres. We took some great pictures here. I even think they would make great proposal settings for grooms looking for magical proposal scenes.

5. Gift Shop

The garden has a gift shop located inside the visitor center that sells lots of items. For Christmas, they have some additional items perfect for last minute Christmas shopping. There were toys, outfits and more.

6. Food Vendor

If you come to the garden, hungry, not to worry, there are food vendors selling hot chocolate and some light refreshments to help curb some hunger or just keep you warm while walking round.

Garden of Lights is open between 5:00 pm – 9 pm daily from November 17 to December 31 except November 20-23 and December 24-25, 2023.

Brookside Gardens is located at 1800 Glenallan Avenue, Wheaton, MD 20902.
