Sneak A Peek Inside HyperKidz Play Place
If you need a place to completely burn your children’s energy, Hyperkidz play is the place to be. Hyperkidz play is an indoor playground for kids ages 0-13 years. There are two locations in Maryland; Owings Mill, Crofton and Columbia, we have been to all locations and although they are all great, I hand down prefer the Crofton the most.
Its a super hyped place with a ton of things to do. They have separate sections for various age groups so you can be sure there is something for your kid to do. There is also ample sitting for parents to watch their kids, especially the younger kids.
One thing I do not particularly like though is because its such a hyper play area, it could get hard keeping track of your kids especially in the big play area. I worry quite easily and always want to know where my kids are which is hard here, so most times I go in with my two year old twins to be sure they are safe.
We had so much fun and will love to share some reasons you need to take your kids to hyperkidz play as well.
10 Reasons to take your kids to HyperKidz Play
1. What can you do at your age?
No matter the age of your kid, there is something for them. Hyperkidz is for kids ages 0-13 years and they have broken up the play area into age groups:
Mini zone – This is for kids ages 0-2 years old and is self contained to ensure they are kept safe in the space. It features ocean theme play and allows for the babies to crawl around freely without fear of older kids or being hit by something.
The things to play with here are soft with extensive padding and no sharp edges so parents can be at ease while watching or even playing with their little ones here.

Kid zone – This is for ages 2-7 years and features things to play with such as a 2 story balloon house, motorized revolving rides, slides, spinning palms, a ball pit and more.

Big kid zone – Now this is the biggest area here and the part that stresses me out the most. It typically has a giant slide which my kids love, lots of tube slides, ramps and many things to interact and play while in this space.

2. Giant slide
This giant slide was one of the main highlights for myself and the kids. It’s located in the big kid zone and so I had to follow them inside because of the twins. They went on this over 10 times lol.
There 4 slides joined together so we were all able to pick a slide and go down together which was great. What makes it extra fun is not just the length, but that its bumpy, so it feels like a nice ride down. In order to get to the slide, you need to climb a couple of foam steps which adds to the fun.

3. Obstacle courses
There are several obstacle type courses at Hyperkidz Play. Some involve walking on paths that move, or crawling or walking on nets, and various ones where you practice your balancing skills.
There are also trampoline like ones, foams to step on to get across and more. They also have something called a Spider web that my daughter was too scared to try.

4. Dance floor
For birthdays, there is a nice dance floor. After about an hour of play time for the celebrant and their guests, the party group is called upon to the dance floor. Here, the bubble blower blows a ton of bubbles while the music is playing for the group to dance. My kids kept dancing and playing with the bubbles and refused to leave till the very last bubble came out.

5. Climbing tunnel
One of the play activities here was the tunnel which had some soft grips inside for kids to climb up with. Although it did make me a bit claustrophobic, the kids enjoyed going up the tunnel.
My daughter attempted to go down the climbing tunnel, she succeeded but it was a bumpy ride down lol.

6. Giant light wall (lite brite)
My twin boy loved this light wall so much! He had a ton of fun picking out the light sticks and placing them back. Obviously he did not know how to use the lite brite, but I think the lights just fascinated him a lot. He was here for nearly half the time we spent at Hyperkidz.

7. Building blocks
I did not even notice this area till my toddler was done with the dance floor and walked towards it. It is a small area where babies can play with foam blocks without any interruptions. The foams come in different shapes and sizes and they can create little structures out of it.

8. Toddler slide plus ball pit
When you get to this area, you climb up a small wall that has foams on it to imitate rock climbing. The kids then made their way over to the slides area which includes 3 slides that connect into the ball pit area.
Ball pits are always a hit and to have it connected to the slide was even better, they spent a ton of time just playing with all the balls. You do have to watch your little kids here, since other kids slide down and could bump into them while playing with the balls.

9. Toddler foam climbing
This foam was quite nice and easy to climb for my toddlers. There were two different ones next to each other. My kids walked on one and then the next time, they grabbed on each of the foams on the other side.

10. Water bounce
Even I had a nice time bouncing on this waterbed, it was very nice and wobbly, plus it had artificial fishes inside it to look at.

11. Rolling wheel
I thought this will be a fun thing to do, but my kids thought otherwise. The spinning was not enjoyable for them so I just had them sit in it and move it back and forth without spinning it.

12. Spinning palms
These were quite hard to balance on for my kids especially the toddlers. My then 5 year old was able to do it after a few tries. I had to hold my toddlers while they were on it since they could not hold on to it.

13. Other things to ride
There were a few other things kids could sit and ride on.
