Two of my kids’ favorite things to do especially during Easter are to celebrate God and enjoy some amazing Easter egg hunts! And I get a kick out of watching them chase the eggs around.

There are so many things to do on Easter in Maryland that it can often become overwhelming. But stress no more, here are some of the best children’s Easter egg hunts in Maryland in 2024 plus other fun events for kids of all ages to do.

These Easter events usually include family friendly events, live entertainment, easter bunny photos, obstacle courses, story time, duck race, food trucks, easter brunch, things for kids such as moon bounce, scavenger hunt, horse-drawn carriage rides and more.

So many different farms, churches, schools, and other businesses love to put on their own Easter egg hunts for children to have fun and enjoy this holiday. Each egg hunt has its own rules and restrictions, but here are some great places you can find easter egg hunts in case you can’t put together your own.

1. Green Meadows farm Easter egg hunt, Ijamsville, MD

This children’s Easter egg hunt event is broken down into age groups to make it easier for younger kids. You can also enjoy a petting zoo, hayrides, and more fun farm activities after the egg hunt. These Easter egg hunts will be all day long, so you can come whenever is convenient for you.

Green Meadows Farm will be hosting Easter Egg Hunts on March 16-17, 23-24, 28-31, 2024. Hunts will be all day between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. Hunt areas will be sectioned off according to age. This year the local farm also has an Easter Trail to walk on the way to see the Easter Bunny, Whiskers. To egg hunt, you need to bring your own easter baskets or buy one from them.

2. Clark’s Elioak Farm, Ellicott city, MD

During this annual Easter egg hunt, your child will get to find a few eggs, put in their easter basket and turn them in for a cute Easter goodie bag. Afterward, you can enjoy farm activities including, petting farm, fun free rides, cow train rides and play areas. These hunts are also broken down into small groups depending on your child’s age.

In 2023, the farm will have Egg Hunts all day on Saturday and Sunday April 1 and April 2 and then continue with the Egg Hunts throughout the Spring Break week , Monday April 3 through Friday April 7 and also Saturday, April 8, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, April 9 and 10.

3. Mary’s Land Farm Easter egg hunt, Ellicott city, MD

Enjoy a fun children’s Easter egg hunt at Mary’s Land Farm! Your kids can also enjoy some fun games, a petting zoo, rides, and get a bag of candy. The Easter Bunny will be available for some easter bunny photos too. This event happens for two days at the end of March and is all day long. This year, 2023 it will be March 27-28 from 8am-5pm.

4. Strohmer’s Farm, Woodstock, MD

The Saturday and Sunday right before Easter, head over to Strohmer’s Farm for a huge Easter egg hunt in their fields. There will also be farm animals roaming around that you can pet and visit up close. The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance during this event!

In 2023, the annual easter egg hunt will take place on March 23rd, 24th and 30th from 11am to 4pm.

5. Watersedge Park

At Watersedge Park, your kids can enjoy a free Easter egg hunt! The Easter Bunny and some of his friends will also be there for your kids to take pictures with. This event starts at 1:00 pm and will only be two hours long. This is a perfect place to go if you are on a tight budget!

Here are some of the best easter events for kids and your family to enjoy! Most of these events also have children’s Easter egg hunt but will have many other fun activities as well.

6. PEEPshow, Carroll County

If your child loves art and Peeps, the PEEPshow is the perfect little event to visit during Easter time! This is a fundraising event where all the proceeds will go to the Arts Council. The PEEPshow is free admission for the whole family, but there is an additional fee if you want to vote for your favorite. It is fun to see everything these artists can create with Peeps, such as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Mr. Potato Head, and a dragon!

In 2024, the 17th annual PEEPshow will take place March 22 – April 1, 2024

7. Bunny Train

Hop on the Bunny Train to let your child talk with the Easter Bunny themselves! This is a fun little ride on a Walkersville Southern Railroad where the Easter Bunny will visit with each child aboard. They will even have a special surprise for each child too!

The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland has a nice Spring Fling where the kids can journey aboard the train to Helmstetters Curve at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm. Kids can also take part in a spring-themed craft activity as a take-home souvenir of the day. While here, enjoy the rides, and cookie treats at the station and visit the gift shop. 

This year, the bunny train will take place on March 23, 24 & 30, 2024 – 11 AM, 1:30 PM & 4 PM.

8. Bunnyland, Germantown, MD

Your kids will love visiting Butler’s Orchard for Bunnyland in the Spring! There will be an Easter egg hunt where your child will get their own basket and can find as many eggs as they want. However, when they open their eggs, they won’t find anything. Instead, your child will turn in their eggs to get tickets for a special prize.

The dates for 2023 are April 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 10, 15, 16, they are Closed Easter Sunday, April 9 then Open Monday, April 10.

There will also be a cute bunny barn with live animals, wagon rides, a hayride, giant slides, a bouncy house, tractors, and more fun farm events to enjoy as well. This is one Easter event in Maryland for kids you do not want to miss!

9. Milburn’s Orchards Easter egg hunt, Elkton, MD

Head over to Milburn’s Orchards for some Easter fun! Here you will find another egg hunt and farm activities for the children to enjoy. There are six different days for the egg hunts, so you can find time to visit one during your busy schedule.

In 2024, Breakfast with the Easter Bunny (indoor-rain or shine) AND Egg Hunting (outdoor-weather permitting) will take place March 23, 24, 28, 29, 30, & April 1. For more details, check their website.

You can also have breakfast with the Easter Bunny too! This is a separate event but is so much fun for kids to experience seeing the Easter Bunny in person. Enjoy some pancakes, sausages, and more, while you eat and take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

10. Bunny BonanZOO (Baltimore zoo Easter egg hunt)

Head over to the Maryland Zoo for their Bunny BonanZOO event this year! During the Easter weekend you can enjoy an amazing annual family tradition with your zoo admission. It features games, activities, crafts, live entertainment, and non-stop egg hunts! It’s a fun (and wild) way to celebrate the spring season. Enjoy some fun Easter games, crafts, and live music.

You’ll also get some Mary Sue Candies chocolate eggs, which are absolutely delicious! You can also enjoy getting some pictures taken with the Easter Bunny as well. Kids will love to visit all the animals and enjoy this holiday all at the same time.

In 2024, the dates are: Fri., Mar. 29, 10:00am – 4:00pm and Sat., Mar. 30, 10:00am – 4:00pm and will feature games, activities, crafts, live entertainment, and non-stop egg hunts!

11. Easter on the Farm

Hannimal Farm LLC is putting on a fun Easter on the Farm event. There will be vendors to grab some fun items from, as well as pony rides, hayrides, a children’s Easter egg hunt, the Easter Bunny, and more farm fun. Parents and their children will enjoy this outdoor event held on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, this year.

12. Robinson Nature center

Located in Columbia, the Robinson Nature Center has a lot of fun opportunities for kids. It has Indoor exhibits, a children’s discovery room, outdoor trails and a natural play area, a planetarium, a gift shop, rental spaces, and more. You can hold special events, field trips, and summer camps and also take part in volunteer opportunities. Check out some other great nature centers in Maryland.

During Easter, you can sign your little kids up for their Spring Eggtravaganza for Tots event. where they can enjoy tot-friendly activities throughout the indoor exhibits and outdoor. They can also enjoy some crafts, puppet shows, games, and spring sensory fun.

If you want some egg hunt fun, they have separate egg hunts for toddlers and children 4 yrs + throughout the day. The event gets full fast so register on time.

In 2024, on March 23rd and 24th, there is a Spring Eggstravaganza for Tots (1 yrs +) where they can enjoy tot-friendly activities throughout the indoor exhibits and outdoor, paved trail (weather-permitting).

On March 23rd and 24ththere is a Spring Egg Hunt at GJACC (2-10 yrs) where you bring your basket to collect eggs and enjoy prizes, refreshments, games and craft time.

13. Eggstravaganza Coppermine cascade park

You can take part in the Easter Eggstravaganza at Coppermine events on Saturdays and Sundays. One thing I love is the age-appropriate egg hunting areas so you do not have to worry about your little ones getting hurt by bigger kids. There are areas for ages 0-3, ages 4-8, ages 9+.

They also have scavenger hunts, face painting, crafts, field games, and inflatables for your kids to enjoy. If you are looking for great photo moments, there is Peter Rabbit waiting to take a picture with you!

14. Weber’s farm Easter, Parkville, MD

Weber’s farm is such an amazing farm especially for kids, They always have a variety of activities for kids to enjoy. You need to get tickets online in advance for this event as it sells out fast. There is the Easter egg hunt where kids can hunt and find eggs filled with toys or candies.

At this local farm, during Easter they have phot0-op with Easter bunny, unlimited rides on the farm barrel train, access to farm animals, face painting, balloon creations and more!

This year 2023, this easter event will be held April 1,2, 7 and 8.

15. Easter egg hunt, Northside Park, Ocean city, MD

It used to be a lot more than an egg hunt, but after COVID, it got reduced to egg hunt only. They also in addition to the Easter Egg Hunt have a fun Easter Bunny trail/ Scavenger Hunt throughout Ocean City. During this bunny trail, the Easter Bunny hides 13 letters around town to spell a secret word that will unlock a special prize for the winner.

If in OCMD, you can explore a few OC attractions with your kids.

16. Greenstreet Gardens Easter event

This event includes and easter parade, egg hunt and easter bunny for kids of all ages to enjoy. There are also fun things like underground slide, tractor playground, live goats and more.

17. Carroll County Farmer’s Market – Easter Show

On Saturday, March 30th, you can check out the Carroll County Farmer’s Market which will hold its free Easter Show from 8am to 2pm.  Its another fun family Easter event with drawings for vendor coupons to use at the Market, visit from the Easter Bunny etc. 

There will also be a ton of vendors ranging from handmade crafts and fine arts, food stands that have home baked goods, and much more. In addition, there will be plant vendors selling spring perennials, annuals, herb plants, as well as house plants.

18. Easter Egg Hunt at Turner Ranch, Havre De Grace, MD

This event features Egg Hunt, Games, Face Painting, Crafts and photos with the Easter bunny!! and will take place Sat, April 1, 2023, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM EDT.

This is an Easter EGGstravaganza Hunt for Ages from 0-100 and is a free event that will take place on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at Kellam’s Field, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM EDT.

24. Egg-citing Bunny Trail & Egg Hunt, Westminister, MD

Another egg-citing easter egg hunt with an Easter-themed trail at Wakefield Valley Park featuring children’s activities, crafts and an egg hunt for ages 1-4 (10:30 AM) and ages 5-8 (11:30 AM). This activity is free for everyone. This event will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

25. Bunny in the Barnyard, Crownsville, MD

This is their 1st Annual Bunny in the Barnyard at this location. The event will include an Easter Egg Hunt, pony rides, hayrides, baby farm animals and crafts and is divided into age groups for safety.

26. Easter Egg Hunt – For Kids and Dogs

Ooooh this is a fun one! I do not have a dog or any other pet but this sounds exciting and is an event for kids and their pets to egg hunt! It will take place on Sat Mar 23 2024 at 11:00 am to 01:00 pm at Essex Elementary School, Mace Avenue, Essex, MD

27. Magnolia Farms 2nd Annual Easter Celebration

This will take place on March 2nd, from 1-5pm and with $10 dollars per car, you have free entry into the farm and all activities FREE! They will also have bunny ears and Easter bags with goodies in them for sale as well!

29. Snacks with the Easter Bunny, Earleigh Heights volunteer fire company

This is a free fun event where kids can enjoy some snacks with the Easter Bunny. It will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 2-4pm. The kids will get a snack and beverage to enjoy plus there will be some Crafts, activities, and fire prevention material available.

Although its free and donations are welcome, photos with Easter Bunny will be available for purchase at $5/ea.

30. Easter Trunk and Hop

This year, it will take place March 2 from 11-2 at Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department and Kids will hop from trunk to trunk, collecting eggs and goodies. There will also be some delicious food, awesome activities, and professional photos ops with the Easter Bunny.

31. Meet the Easter Bunny at Bubala

Bubala Playground has been one of our fave play spots in MD since when the kids were younger, and we went for a birthday party. Their Easter event will take place this year on March 15th and 24th and is a great time to meet the Easter bunny!
