8 Reasons You Need to Visit Magnolia Meadows Farm
Fall is definitely in full swing and although I have not been a huge fan of fall season, this year I have taken full advantage and enjoyed a ton of fall festivals around me.
Maryland is a beautiful state, full of lovely natural landscapes and wonderful places to visit with your family. Among those places, there is a particular destination that stands out and should be at the top of every family’s list – Magnolia Meadows Farm.
Let’s take a closer look at Magnolia Meadows Farm and I will share some great reasons why you should make it your next family outing.
1. Apple Cannon shots
Magnolia Meadows Farm has Apple Cannon shots which were incredibly fun for my kids. This was the first thing we did when we entered the farm. You can buy shots to shoot, and I believe we got 10 shots, and I shared them between my 3 kids.
Initially we could not figure out how to do it but got some help from one of the staffs.
You’ll == It’s a unique and exciting activity that’s perfect for families who love a bit of friendly competition.
2. U-Pick Fields
We cut some very beautiful sunflowers and other flower varieties. They have different price ranges and so we got the largest which was the bucket size.
You are given shears to cut the flowers and then when you come back to the starting point, a staff will add some water into the bucket to preserve the flowers.
It was very fun walking through the U-Pick fields, taking pictures and just enjoying nature.
3. Gem Mining
Another intriguing feature of Magnolia Meadows Farm is the mining activity that allows families to dig for hidden treasures like gemstones. My kids loved mining for gemstones, sapphires, arrowheads, geodes, and fossils to take home as souvenirs.
It was a fun and educational way to learn about earth sciences and geology in an interactive and hands-on way.
4. Animal barn
The farm has lots of animals to feed and just enjoy, some were horses, goats, chickens, sheep and more. We did not buy any feed for the animals, but they do sell them, and you can buy a bag to feed the animals as you walk around.
5. Zip-Lining
This was one of our favorite things to do at Magnolia Meadows Farm. It is a small zip-line but fun to go zipping down a small area. There were 3 zip-lines, so you can fly across with other members of your family. The line was not long so my kids were able to zip-line several times without waiting in line.
6. Slides and games area
Magnolia Meadows Farm playground is perfect for kids who love to run, tumble, and climb. With a fun fort, slides, and a giant jumping pillow, lots of other games, this farm is a surefire way to be the highlight of your children summer.
The slides were a lot of fun, I even went a couple times. Some other games include hula hoop, tires area, pin the donkey and more.
7. Hayride
The hayride is a great way to go through the beautiful expanse of the farm. We were not able to do the hayride at this farm because by the time the last hayride was loading up, the line was ridiculously long plus the flower field was closing as well so we decided to get some flowers instead.
We did see the wagon go round the farm and it can hold a ton of people.
8. Moo Trains
Another favorite feature here was the relaxing Moo trains. There was not much to the trains, but just a great start to the farm especially for the kids.
9. Corn Maze
I believe Magnolia Meadows farm is Maryland’s Largest Corn Maze with 5+ miles of trails! I love that they have 3 levels to the maze, one for little kids, one for maybe older kids and another for grown up or if you are up to a challenge.
They also have moonlit maze where you can spend the evening on the farm, enjoy some food and live music. You can also do the corn maze under the moonlight which is a great experience.
